Founded 1901

PRESIDENT : MR L CHIVERS

Based in the south Cotswolds just north of Bath, Marshfield Cricket Club is a friendly and welcoming village cricket club with a very picturesque ground.

Originally founded in 1901 by the local vicar, the club had a nomadic existence, playing on a number of different sites in the village until settling at the village playing field, Withymead, after the Second World War.  In 1968 the club purchased a field on the edge of the village, where the present Broadleys ground was established, with the first game taking place in 1970.

We currently run three senior competitive sides on a Saturday and a friendly side on Sundays and during the week. The first and second eleven sides compete in the West of England Premier league Glos/Wilts Division and the third eleven compete in the Wiltshire Cricket League.

We also compete in the National Village Knockout Cup on Sunday. In 2006 we reached the last 16 of the competition, just two more games away from Lords!

We also have a very active youth section and currently run five teams U9s, U11s, U13s, U15s and U17s. These play in the Bath & District, Bristol Youth Cricket League and the Wiltshire Youth Cricket Leagues and also compete in regional cups.

After a sucessful first season we also also have a growing ladies section, and in 2015 they have a full set of fixtures for the first time.

We have a very lively social scene at the club. The bar is open during all matches and we also hold a number of fundraising events throughout the year which many local people support.

Marshfield Cricket Club is very much at the heart village social life, with many of the players living in the village, and our matches are often well supported.

If you're ever in the village on a Saturday during the summer, please come and have a drink in the bar and enjoy some cricket - you will be most welcome!

The pavillion is available for hire at very competitive rates throoughout the year. Please click here for more details.

If you would like more information about Marshfield Cricket Club please contact the Secretary (Ben White).
