Marshfield Cricket Coaches go the extra mile!!
Burned out by coaching around 200 youth players each Friday night after a hard week at work, an elite team of Marshfield Cricket Club coaches have decided to take a couple of weeks off to relax by cycling the thousand odd miles that separate Lands End and John O’Groats. The team of five coaches, and one (hopefully) future coach, will raise funds for the Forever Friends appeal, in support of the new Cancer Centre at the Royal United Hospital, Bath.
The trip is self-organised and self-funding, so every penny donated will go directly to the charity. This is an important fundraiser for all those involved, both individually and as a group, and they are really looking forward to contributing to improving the care provided to patients and their relatives.
The team, Tristan Barton, Mike Batty (Boys U7), Ian Price, Jon Millar (Boys U11) Rhys Gwilliam (Girls U11), and John Hardy (future coach!) will be supported by Tom Day, who will drive with the group and provide invaluable support.
