Impressive performances again from Marshfield girls at the weekend.
We had no fewer than 21 girls taking part in two festivals.
Thirteen girls took part in the Marshfield softball festival, including several making debuts. We were competitive in all our games with some steady bowling and sound batting. The fielding was particularly good - including boundary-saving slides and dives plus great catches.
Thanks to everyone who worked so hard behind the scenes to make that work so brilliantly.
The under-13 team were on their travels – 40 miles, in fact, to Frampton on Severn (well done to parents who put the time and effort in to get children there).
We played three games – won one, drew one, lost one. Really pleasing as all our girls are young enough to play in that one again next year – and some will play it for another three years so the future is very bright.
Despite being younger than most of the teams, we showed real maturity. So while some coaches of other teams with much older girls were having to set fields and tell their girls what to do, our girls worked it out for themselves. Too many good individual performances to mention – well done to everyone.
