Marshfield Girls Represent Wiltshire At The Regional Under-13s Lady Taverners Competition
Marshfield girls represented Wiltshire at the regional under-13s Lady Taverners competition. With many of our older players away on international duty (well, holidays abroad) we fielded a very young eight-person squad – including four 10-year-olds. The team did brilliantly against sides from Berkshire, Somerset, Gloucestershire and the mighty Tarka Girls from Devon.
Three girls made their debut at wicket keeper and looked as if they had done it all their lives – well done to Martha, Molly B and Belle. Alice E captained the side really well. Libby, Molly M, Alex and Amy all put in some tremendous batting and bowling performances. We didn't win but it was great experience and hopefully we'll be challenging for the regional trophy in years to come.
