Get to know your MCC youth coaches!

Amelia Bond
(Under 7 Girls)

Amelia is a qualified Level 1 coach.  She is studying Health and Childcare at Chippenham College.

Andy Elliot

Andy Elliot
(Under 11 Girls)

Andy is a lifelong member of Marshfield Cricket Club and has played at all levels at the club, and now turns out for the second or third XI, as a fielding all-rounder.   He has completed the Level 2 coaching course and is the lead coach for the U11s Girls team .  Andy's more talented daughter plays at the club and has recently made her debut at county level.

Calum is MCC’s first team wicket-keeper, and is a product of the MCC Youth Section. Calum helps out across all sections with specialist wicket-keeping sessions.

Cameron Walker
(Under 11 Boys)

Cameron has coached at MCC for the past few seasons, this year with the U11 Boys.  He is a first team player. Cameron is a product of the MCC Youth Section.

colin sinkins

Colin Sinkins
(Under 11 Boys)

Colin is a very experienced coach and is the U11 lead coach.  He has undertaken the ECB Level 2 course.  Colin is a batsman and tries to wicket-keep whilst capataining the MCC Seconds.  His son plays at MCC.

Hannah Palmer

Hannah Palmer
(Under 7 Girls)

Hannah is a student of Sports Leadership and Development at the University Of South Wales.  As well as being a Fundamental Movement Skills Level Two specialist, Hannah is a Level One Netball and Level One Cricket Coach.  Hannah also plays cricket.

Jeremy bond

(Under 15 Boys)

Jeremy supports the Boys U15s lead coach. He plays for the MCC’s first team, as an all-rounder. Jeremy is a product of the MCC Youth Section.

Mark Dixon
 (Various)

Mark has been playing cricket badly for almost 40 years, the last 10 or so with Marshfield. His daughter has just started with the Under 7's and he has recently passed the ECB Coach Support Worker Course. Mark is also a member of the clubs main committee and runs the clubs website.

(Under 9 Boys)

Martin is the lead U9 Boys Coach. He is a qualified Level 2 ECB coach. Both Martin’s children play at MCC.

Robin hand

Ian Price
(Under 9 Boys)

All three of Ian's children play at Marshfield Cricket Club, where Ian volunteers with the coaching on Friday nights.  Ian has occasionally turned out for the village team, and describes his bowling on those occasions as full of vigour and energy, but a little lacking in accuracy!  Ian is also a Level Two Minis Rugby Coach, and coaches at Colerne Rugby Football Club.

(Under 9 Girls)

Both of Robin's daughters play at Marshfield Cricket Club.  Robin has undertaken the Level 2 Coaching qualification, and is awaiting his assessment. He is the current Youth Section secretary.

Nick Vellacott
(Under 13 Boys)

Nick is a coach with the U13 Boys section. He has extensive coaching experience and has coached at a number of age ranges within the MCC Youth section over the past few years.

Paul Johnson
(Under 9 Boys)

Paul has played first class cricket, and joined the U9 coaching team this year. Both of his children play at MCC. Paul is looking forward to undertaking the ECB qualifications next year.

Martin Wilson
(Under 11 Girls)

Martin has coached at MCC for a number of years, across a range of age groups. Martin’s daughter plays at MCC.

Louisa Gwilliam
 (Under 11 Girls)

Louisa's children both play at Marshfield Cricket Club.  Louisa has volunteered on Friday night for cricket training for two seasons. Louisa is former Director of Sport at King Edward's school, is a Level 2 Netball Coach, and played at National League Level for Team Bath

Claire Webb
 (Under 11 Girls)

Clare is a qualified primary school teacher, with a fair bit of coaching experience, albeit not cricket until last year! Clare is in her second season helping with the girl’s youth training and has recently qualified as a Level 1 cricket coach. Both of Clare’s children regularly attend Friday night youth training

 (Under 11 Girls)

Both Amy's children both play at Marshfield Cricket Club.  Amy began volunteering on a Friday night for cricket training this season. Amy is currently enjoying returning to many of the sports she used to play before starting her family.

Rhys Gwilliam
  (Under 11 Girls)

'Rhys's children both play at Marshfield Cricket Club.  Rhys has volunteered on Friday night for cricket training for two seasons.  He is the Director of Sport at Prior Park and is a Level 2 Rugby, Level 3 Hockey Coach and experienced cricket coach. Rhys is a former Welsh Hockey International.

Mike Batty
(Under 7 Boys)

Both of Mike's children play at Marshfield Cricket Club.  Last season Mike coached with the U9s, and this year has moved to the U7s.  He says this is because most of the U9s are ˜better than him".  Mike is a licensed Rugby Coach and manages the U11 team at Colerne Rugby Football Club, where he is also the clubs safeguarding officer.

Darren has extensive coaching experience as a PE teacher. He son plays at MCC.

Jack Davison
 (Under 7 Boys)

Jack's child plays at Marshfield Cricket Club.  This is Jack's first year of coaching, and he has enjoyed the experience.  He has played cricket at School and University level but is coming back to the game after a long hiatus.

Suffan Hassan
 (various)

Suffan is MCC’s overseas player for the 2017 season. He holds the Australian equivalent to the ECB Level 3 coach, making him one of the most highly qualified coaches at MCC.

Vince is a keen cricketer and started coaching in the 2017 season. Both of his children play at MCC

Wayne pascall

Wayne Pascall
 (Under 13 Boys)

Wayne is a County-level coach, and has been instrumental in establishing the MCC Youth section over the last decade.

William Tillet 
(Under 7 Boys)

William's son plays at Marshfield Cricket Club.  While William professes to have limited cricketing credentials on the playing side, he has helped on Friday evenings for the last few years, and is an experienced volunteer.

Steve Morris

Steve Morris 
 (Under 13/15 Girls)

Steve is a Level 2 ECB qualified coach.  Steve launched the girls section four years ago, and is now the Head of Girls Cricket at MCC.  His daugher plays at the club.

Kevin Hendy
 (Under 15 Boys)

Kevin is one of the sections most experienced and qualified coaches. He is ECB qualified at Level 2 and has also completed a number additional modules. Kevin is a key member of the MCC Seconds, and his son plays at MCC.

Graham is a very experienced coach, and has worked with a number of age groups in the boy’s section over the last few years. He plays for the MCC Seconds, and his son plays at MCC.

Tristan Barton

Tristan started coaching the U7 Boys in the 2017 season. His three children all play at MCC. Tristan is a product of the MCC Youth Section.

Will Christie
(Under 9 Boys)

Will Christie joined the coaching team in the 2017 season, and is an ECB qualified Level 1 coach. He plays for the MCC Thirds.

Noel is an experienced coach and has worked with the current U9 cohort for the last few years. One of his children plays at MCC

John has coached the U9 boys for the last few seasons, and in 2017 achieved the ECB Level 1 coaching qualification

Jon has coached the U9 boys for the last few seasons. He is an experienced youth sport coach, and holds the Level 2 FA you coach qualification. Two of Jon’s children play at MCC

Stu Barter joined the U9 boys section in the 2017 season. He has represented the Army cricket team. One of Stu’s children plays at MCC

Hamish is a first team player at MCC, and has played at county level for his age group. He has coached for the last couple of seasons

(Under 9 Girls)

Joining the club as a junior last century Ben has maroon & gold coursing through his veins having played at first team level for many, many decades and served as club secretary for over 10 years. Having coached juniors with an ECB level 2 qualification previously "Chalky" has returned to coaching this season, with his daughter joining the junior ranks.

Pippa is an experienced coach. She has worked with the Under 11 girls as they have move through the section. One of her children plays at MCC

Scott is an experienced coach. He has worked with the U13 girls as they have progressed through the youth section. One of his children plays at MCC

Francesca Fryer
U15 Team Manager

Francesca Fryer is the U15 team manager, supporting lead coach Kevin Hendy.  She leaves all the on pitch glory to the team and her children Louis and Alberta who both have played at the club for over 4 years.  She is well supported by the U15 parents and the team revels in its reputation for the Best Cricket Teas in their League. This year she has made the Youth Section a little more huggable by coordinating the new Hoodies and MCC caps.
