Marshfest 2022

MarshFest line-up announced as it aims to raise £10,000 in 2022

Battle of the Bands features in fourth family-friendly one-day charity festival in September

MARSHFIELD, SOUTH GLOS, 13 July 2022: MarshFest is set to return to Marshfield on Saturday September 10 and this year aims to raise £10,000 for good causes over the one-day, family-friendly festival.

The fourth festival held in Marshfield will see seven music acts, including Talk in Code - fresh from supporting The Feeling at the Foodies Festival, and upcoming BBC Bristol favourite "Enter Red", with its unique brand of infectious Alt-Rock. Other new acts for 2022 include Pipe Dream, and local rock legends, Bottle of Dog.

Also new for 2022 is the MarshFest Battle of The Bands competition, where six local school bands will battle it out on the day with the winner going on to play a set later on the main stage, as well as scooping a £300 music equipment voucher.

Originally started by village dads and one mum, MarshFest runs from 1pm to 10.30pm on Saturday 10 September at Broadleys, Marshfield Cricket Club’s ground. There’s fun for the whole family, with activities including a craft tent provided by the award-winning Makery Kate; a graffiti workshop with canvas prints to take away by Bristol’s Graffarty; live entertainment from Lucy Lost It; face painting; a games area and a family tug of war.

The festival is focussing on accessibility in 2022, with accessible toilets and dedicated changing facilities for those with additional needs.

Food and drink is locally sourced and includes Marshfield’s Pizza Folk with stone-baked sourdough pizzas; Bath’s Chai Walla with Indian cuisine; Thai food from Konnikra; Marshfield Ice Cream; a barbeque and hot drinks and snacks from the Really Awesome Coffee.

Completing the music line up is soulful favourites Fancy Biscuits, featuring Richard Friend and Lou Ruddell; blues-inspired Antalya; a sunset DJ set from DJ Jonny Gibbons, and a live Zumba class.

All profits go to good causes, with Marshfield Primary PTA and Warmley Park School and College set to benefit, alongside hosts, Marshfield Cricket Club. There’s also plenty of free parking on-site.

Primary sponsor this year is MJ Church, with other local sponsors Davis Groundworks (entertainment sponsor); RW Knight & Son; David Meade; F. G. Bond & Son; Delta Precast and Marshfield Ice Cream. Partnering is Powerline.

“We’re back bigger and better in 2022, and we’re keen to keep things fresh with live Zumba for the first time and a Graffarty graffiti art workshop alongside bands and entertainment. Our Battle of the Bands response has been phenomenal and six live bands are battling it out on the day for a prime spot on the main stage. £10,000 might be a punchy sum but we’re committed to raising as much as possible for three good causes. Bring it on!” – James Wood, MarshFest organiser.

MarshFest attracted over 800 festival goers on its last outing. Festival goers are being encouraged to buy e-tickets before the day to benefit from an early bird rate as prices increase on the door on the day.
