CoastBUSTers Cycle Challenge

Charity Coast to Coast Challenge for Marshfield Cricket Coaches and friends, May 3rd-5th 2019.

lady cyclists

Not to be outdone by the boys who last year cycled from Land's End to John o' Groats, now a group of Marshfield Cricket Club Coaches and friends are taking on a new cycle endurance challenge: the Coast to Coast.  Like our male counterparts, we will be raising money for the Forever Friends Appeal for the Royal United Hospital Bath.

Our CoastBUSTers include:

Louisa Gwilliam, Amy Thompson, Clare Webb, Rachel Cooper, Keira Prince, Kirsty Bushell, and Charlotte Barton with Rachel Cull as support crew. We are hoping to dip our toes in the sea at Whitehaven, cycle through West Cumbria, the northern Lake District then climb up steeply into the Pennines and finally on the third day dip our toes in the sea at Whitley Bay. A cycling challenge like this is new to most of us but we are all determined to complete it.

The challenge is all self-funded and we are raising money for the Forever Friends Appeal for the Royal United Hospital Bath, Breast Unit redevelopment. As a group, we have all had friends and family affected by Breast Cancer and feel strongly about supporting this local project.

The hospital needs to redevelop and expand the unit so it can facilitate its work with an increasing number of patients each year, plus provide a more welcoming and calming atmosphere to help patients feel relaxed and confident about their care.

We will be (static) cycling on Friday 26th April at the cricket club in preparation for the actual challenge the following weekend. Please support our cause if you can and spur us on up those hills.....
