Mixed fortunes for our girls hardball team

team v Chippenham

First the good news.

alice wilsonThe girls enjoyed a brilliant last ball win against Chippenham at home. We made 110 for four wickets off our 20 overs. Alice Wilson (pic right) hit 29 runs off her four overs including six fours - our best score in this format this season - and, come to think of it, best ever. Great hitting, too, from Belle and Lily.

Our fielding was also excellent. A catch behind for Beth and impressive bowling from all. Tried a Wales-like heart celebration - see pic above.

A much younger team travelled to Frenchay. They batted first and thanks to some powerful hitting made 120. Martha got a catch behind and there were wickets for Molly M, Lily, Alice W and Maddy E. Debutant Lilia also got one wicket and one smart run-out. Thanks to her for turning out.

Marshfield lost too many wicket when batting and could not get near their score. But we play them again at home on Sunday - with some of our more experienced players back in. So that should be a great challenge.
