Girls Teams Make a Great Start To The Season

Great performances from Marshfield girls in games over the bank holiday weekend. We had 20 girls aged six to 13 playing competitive cricket - and ended up with three wins and one tied game. No defeats.

Marshfield under-11s played three games in the opening softball tournament at Calne. They scored 77 runs to tie their first game with Burbage  - then went on to beat both Devizes and Royal Wootton Bassett. The team was a lovely combination of youth and experience with ages ranging from six to 11.

Meanwhile, the under-13s won their first game in the Gloucestershire league, beating Bath by an impressive 40 runs at Marshfield. Aggressive batting, accurate bowling and tight fielding and wicket-keeping. Well done to the team and to all helpers, parents and supporters.
