Keynsham Too Strong for U13's

On a lovely early summers evening, after a battle with the traffic Marshfield Under 13s arrived at Keynsham for their latest fixture. Having won the toss and batted, the home side were in dominant form on a low, slow pitch and took full advantage of the fast outfield. The Marshfield boys bowled well with Harvey Vellacott, Ollie Bates and Rory Bushell picking up the 3 wickets to fall as the home side innings closed on a commanding 156-3.

In reply, the Marshfield batsman were unable to dominate in the same manner and found runs difficult to score against some tight bowling assisted by some athletic fielding. Boundaries were rare as the deep-set field ensured no easy runs were available and the Marshfield innings closed on 104-4. Batting highlights were Sam Duckett who batted nicely throughout the innings to score 21 not out and Ollie Bates with a solid 24.
